Samsung Galaxy A30s vs Samsung Galaxy M30S Compare

Hey, guys! We are talking about two new models – the Galaxy A30S and the Galaxy M30S. Now let’s move on to a direct comparison of the two South Korean smartphones.

The case of the Galaxy A30S is made of polycarbonate. The back with an asymmetric pattern is quite noticeable. The back cover has four different textures with their own shades. In the upper left corner is a vertical unit with a triple camera, and right below that is an LED flash. A frameless display with an elegant drop-shaped neckline, a built-in fingerprint scanner, and a medium-sized chin is installed on the front. The device turned out to be pretty light and thin, as it only weighs 166 grams, and the thickness of the case is 7.8 mm.

The Galaxy M30S got a pretty practical plastic case. But it’s not so compact. The gadget weighs 188 grams. As for the thickness, it’s almost 9 millimeters. An important feature of the M30S is the presence of a fingerprint scanner on the back. It works somewhat faster than the screen scanner in the A30S. The enlarged unit with the main triple camera is particularly noteworthy. It fit not only three lenses, but also an LED flash. The front of the case is equipped with a screen with narrow frames and a small drop-shaped cutout for a selfie camera. I also have to talk about the light gradient of the back cover, which does not look elaborate and harmonious.

The Galaxy A30S got a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen. It doesn’t have the highest resolution, at 1560 by 720 pixels. This low resolution directly affects the image detail. The display has a drop-shaped cutout for a selfie camera. It is also covered with curved glass.

The Galaxy M30S has a Super AMOLED screen with the same diagonal of 6.4 inches. Its’ main difference lies in the screen resolution, namely 2340 by 1080 pixels. I also must note a more compact drop-shaped neckline in which the front camera fits.

The A30S comes with Android 9.0 with a One UI proprietary shell. Minimalism dominates here, and using the gadget is quite convenient – even with one hand.

Since the M30S came out around the same time as the A30S, it received a similar platform from Google. It hosts the same One UI shell. Yes, the interface cannot be called fast, but it focuses on convenient everyday use.

The Galaxy A30S has a primary triple camera. Its main wide-angle sensor is 25 megapixels. It has phase detection auto-focus and aperture 1.7. There is also an ultra-wide 8 MP module and a 5 megapixel depth sensor. The camera can shoot maximum quality video in Full HD resolution. There is also a 16-megapixel front camera.

The Galaxy M30S features a more advanced triple camera with a primary 48 megapixel lens. It also has phase auto-focus, but its’ 2.0 aperture turned out to be worse, which is especially felt with a lack of external lighting. The remaining modules at 8 and 5 megapixels are identical. This camera is better suited for shooting videos, because it is capable of recording in 4K resolution. There is also electronic stabilization. The selfie camera is exactly the same – 16 megapixels.

Inside the Samsung Galaxy A30S is an eight-core Exynos 7904 processor, which is made using 14-nanometer process technology. The amount of RAM is 3/4 gigabytes. But the amount of built-in storage depends on the selected version – 32, 64, or 128 gigabytes. If you run out of storage space, you can use a microSD cards up to 1 terabyte. In the AnTuTu test, the device scores about 108,000 points, which is a good result for a budget class phone, but far from a record.

The performance of the M30S is better. It has an eight-core Exynos 9611 chip with a maximum frequency of 2300 MHz. It was manufactured using 10-nanometer process technology. RAM reaches 4/6 gigabytes, and internal storage of 64 or 128 gigabytes. You can also use microSD cards with a capacity of up to 1 terabyte. The AnTuTu test shows a decent result – 156,000 “parrots”.

The Galaxy A30S smartphone has Bluetooth 5.0 for fast file transfers through the air. You can use one of two frequency ranges when connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi – 2.4 or 5 GHz. There is a USB Type-C connector for conveniently connecting a charger. A nice bonus is the presence of NFC to make contactless payments.

The situation is almost the same with the Galaxy M30S. It also has Bluetooth 5.0. The USB Type-C port is also installed. There is support for dual-band Wi-Fi. But there is no NFC chip in this phone.

The built-in rechargeable battery in the Galaxy A30S has a capacity of 4000 mAh. In a balanced mode of use, the charge lasts for 2 full days. In video viewing mode, the smartphone can withstand up to 15 hours of use. Web surfing depletes the battery in 12 hours. If you talk non-stop, then one charge is enough for 26 hours. Fast charge using a 15W power adapter is provided.

The smartphone M30S has even better battery autonomy. The model got a powerful battery with a capacity of 6000 mAh and fast charging at 15 watts. The battery can withstand a 20-hour video marathon without problem. If you use an internet browser, then the charge is enough for 17 hours. And in talk mode, the battery can withstand 35 hours.
