Realme XT vs Realme 5 Pro. Compare?

Appearance

Realme introduced two great smartphones to the audience – the Realme XT and the Realme 5 Pro. Both smartphones are small and have a recognizable Realme design.

The Realme XT case has a length of 158.7 millimeters, a width of 75.2 millimeters and a thickness of 8.6 millimeters. The phone weighs 183 grams. The Realme 5 Pro is a little smaller. It is 157 millimeters long, 74.2 millimeters wide and 8.9 millimeters thick.

The case of both smartphones is made of durable glass and plastic. The front screen of the Realme XT is protected by an impact-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The back is glass with a frosted tint. The screen of both smartphones is framed by thin plastic with rounded edges. The lower side of the frame is slightly thicker than the other sides. The design of the Realme XT phone is like iridescent hyperbolic streaks of light, which looks elegant and noble. The device fits comfortably in the hand and thanks to the rounded sidewalls it is held comfortably.

The Realme 5 Pro case has a glass front, a plastic back and a plastic frame. The front part is protected by Gorilla Glass 3+. The back of the phone, unlike the Realme XT, is made of glossy plastic. The case is quite slippery. The phone is harder to hold. The design of the Realme 5 Pro is presented with flickering crystals. The smartphone looks easier comparing to the older version. There is protection against moisture and dust.

The front camera of the smartphones is placed in a drop-shaped cutout at the top of the screen. Above it there is a speaker as usual. There is no LED.

There are vertical blocks of the rear cameras on the back of the case in the upper left corner. Due to this arrangement, the cameras do not overlap or blur. In total, there are 4 cameras in the block. The LED flash is placed to the right of the block. The Realme XT has a vertical strip next to the camera unit. This design gives the phone a more noble look. There is a vertical Realme logo in the lower left corner of the smartphone.

Both devices are equipped with a fingerprint sensor. The Realme 5 Pro has it located on the back to the right of the camera unit. The Realme XT has an optical fingerprint sensor which is located in front of the smartphone under the display and provides a high level of security. There is akso a face recognition function.

The phones are equipped with sensors: GPS / Beidou / Galileo, Light sensor, proximity, magnetic induction, gyrometer, accelerometer, pedometer, and gravity sensor.

Both smartphones have the on / off button on the right edge, and two volume keys on the left. There is a slot for two nanoSIM cards and one flash card above the volume keys.

At the bottom of the smartphones there is a 3.5 millimeter headphone input, a charger connector (Type-C), a speaker and a microphone. The device connectors are located symmetrically.

Both phones are available in two colors. The case color of the Realme XT can be white pearl or blue pearl. The body color of the version is a shimmering blue and green crystal. The design of both devices is attractive, elegant, with flexible tints of color and shadow. Keep in mind that fingerprints remain on the shiny case but a protective case quickly solves this problem.

The Realme XT has three memory configurations – 4/64 GB, 6/64 GB and 8/128 GB, while the Realme 5 Pro has four – 4/64 GB, 6/64 GB and 4/128 GB, 8/128 GB.

Screen

Both smartphones have a large, bright capacitive touch screen. The Realme XT is presented with the Super AMOLED screen type with wide viewing angles. The diagonal size is 6.4 inches, the aspect ratio is 19.5 to 9, the resolution is 1080 by 2340 pixels (FHD +), the PPI is 403. The display usable area is 91.9%, which provides the effect of a complete immersion in what is happening on the screen. Screen protector is the Corning Gorilla Glass 3+.

In the settings you can switch to the dark mode of the interface at a certain time of the day. The dark theme is fully integrated with third-party applications. This makes working with the phone more comfortable. You can set the color temperature, reduce the intensity of blue. The light sensor automatically changes the brightness of the screen.

The screen type of the 5 Pro is IPS LCD. The viewing angles are good, without a significant color shift. The screen size is 6.3 inches, the aspect ratio is 19.5 to 9, the resolution is 1080 by 2340 pixels (FHD +), the PPI is 409. The display usable area is 90.6%. The maximum brightness is 450 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

It is also possible to adjust the color temperature and reduce the intensity of blue through the settings menu.

The screen is easily readable both indoors and outdoors, even on a sunny day. It also can be set manually.

Software

Both smartphones run on the Android 9.0 (Pie) with the ability to upgrade to version Android 10.0, with the ColorOS 6.0 shell. realme edition. The system supports AR-core augmented reality technology and all the main functions – gesture control, split screen, cloning of social network accounts, screen recording, user-selectable interface fonts.

Camera

The Realme XT rear camera consists of four modules (it is a quad camera) – the main camera with a resolution of 64 megapixels and aperture – f / 1.8, the wide-angle camera – 8 megapixels, with aperture f / 2.3 macro module – 2 megapixels with aperture f / 2.4 and depth module with the same specifications (2 megapixels with aperture f / 2.4). According to the manufacturer, the quad camera takes photos at the flagship level.

The built-in TetraCell technology and 3D HDR in the 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 module allow you to take great pictures in any conditions. It is possible to take a photo of a magnificent sea, mountain and forest landscapes with it. The photographs are ultra-clear with balanced colors and good detail, even when zoomed in.

The camera allows you to control the depth and take high-quality portrait shots. The Smart HDR effect expands the dynamic range. Portraits are obtained with good detail, in light and dark areas. You can apply various effects, improve the light gamut, there is a manual settings mode, auto-HDR, and slow motion mode.

The camera works well in low light. Night shots are bright and clear.
Ultra-wide-angle camera with DLDC noise reduction technology increases the viewing angle, allows you to take high definition panoramic pictures. The macro module helps you create clear pictures from a distance of 4 cantimeters.

Both smartphones support 4K resolution and shoot video at 30 frames per second without any problems. There is the slow motion mode and the stabilization function (EIS).

The front camera (SonyIMX471) of the Realme XT smartphone has a resolution of 16 MP and aperture f / 2.0. It supports AL-beauty mode, and takes great selfies. When shooting indoors, the photos are good quality. The background is blurred evenly. The colors are natural and bright.

The Realme 5 Pro rear camera also consists of four modules (quad camera) – the main camera (Sony IMX 586 module). Its resolution is less than the one of the Realme XT – it is 48 megapixels, the aperture is f / 1.8, wide-angle camera is 8 megapixels, with aperture f / 2.2, portrait module and macro module – 2 MP, with aperture f / 2.4. Pictures are obtained in good quality, bright, and clear with balanced colors. The quality does not change with a change in the camera angle or in low light. The camera has the ultra-night mode (pictures get bright, clear with good detail), HDR, multi-frame synthesis, slow motion mode, AI-beauty feature, scene recognition, color saturation mode, built-in filters. There is the expert mode. Panoramic shooting allows you to shoot detailed landscapes.

A portrait camera is capable of creating artistic portraits with different effects. The macro camera takes vivid photos from a distance of 4 cantimeters. With an aperture of F2.4 and a bokeh effect, the pictures are clear and expressive.

The front camera which is Sony 16 has a resolution of 16 MP. It supports AI and AI HDR mode and allows you to take great selfies.

Performance

Both smartphones have the Qualcomm chipset, and 8-core Snapdragon 712 processor. Two cores work with a frequency of 2.3 GHz, the other six – with a frequency of 1.7 GHz. The GPU is Adreno 616. Both smartphones have high performance.

The Realme XT is presented in three memory configurations – 4/64 GB, 6/64 GB, 8/128 GB. There is enough RAM for everyday work and playing games with complex graphics. There is Hyper Boots 2.0 mode to improve the performance of the smartphone. There is a special space allocated for games – the Game Space, which allows you to store games in one place. The “do not disturb” mode and dedicated panels help not to be distracted during the game. A multi-level cooling system prevents the smartphone from overheating.

Network

Both smartphones support the necessary communication standards. There is support for Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz. There is Bluetooth version 5.0 for data transfer. There is the GPS. The Realme XT has the NFC module, while the Realme 5 Pro doesn’t.

Battery

The capacity of the non-removable battery of the Realme XT is
4000 mAh. The quick charge function with the VOOC technology allows you to charge your smartphone up to 55% in 30 minutes. While charging, you can play games and run applications without effecting the battery.

The Realme 5 Pro battery has a large capacity of 4035 mAh. There is also the quick charge function. The phone is charged at 50% in half an hour.
