Hello, everyone! In this video, we’re going to compare two top processors – the Intel i9 10900X and the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X – and also test their performance in modern games.
The Intel Core X-Series processors are the most powerful processors in the series. The volume of level 3 cache in the 3900X is 44 MB larger and amounts to 64 MB, compared to 20 MB for the model from Intel. The AMD processor boasts a highly efficient 7 nm process. Thanks to this, the processor power increases, and its power consumption becomes smaller. The process value of the i9 10900X is 14 nm. The maximum core frequency, again, is slightly higher for Ryzen – 4.6 GHz versus 4.5 GHz for the Intel. In this case, both processors can be unlocked to be even more powerful.
The developers see the i9 10900X as a model for resource-intensive creative or work purposes. As I already said, this processor is supported by 10 AVX-512 cores with improved Turbo Boost Max 3.0 technology. This helps the most important workloads to be sent sent to the four fastest processor cores. Thanks to the new advanced technologies, the user gets maximum performance, excellent speed of the storage subsystem, as well as memory.
The unlocked multiplier also deserves to be mentioned. It provide the Intel’s model with an additional margin of performance. The user can use overclocking for each core separately. Also, in order to increase stability, you can control the AVX coefficient, and in extreme scenarios, you can adjust the VccU voltage. On the other hand, most modern games do not use more than 8 cores, which means that in terms of gaming, the Ryzen processor most likely will not be able to reach its full potential.
Well, let’s have some game tests to see if it’s all true.
Our processors are going to work in conjunction with the RTX 2080 Ti graphics card. The Asus Prime X299-A II and GIGABYTE X570 AORUS PRO motherboards were used for for the Intel and the AMD respectively. To fully evaluate the performance of these models, the testing was carried out at the maximum graphics settings in Full HD resolution.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a fun, single-player, open-world role-playing game. The project was developed by the Czech studio Warhorse Studios, and released in 2018 by Deep Silver. The game focuses on historical authenticity; it reproduces the atmosphere of medieval Czechia in detail starting from clothing and weapons to architecture and the social structure of the country.
As you can see, the twelve-core Ryzen is only 1% inferior to the model from Intel. The difference in the minimum FPS is slightly larger – it is 8%.

In terms of gaming performance, there is complete parity. Both models showed the same average FPS which is 108 frames per second.
So let’s summarize. Today we compared the Intel i9 10900X and the AMD Ryzen 9 3900X. As it was expected, these processors showed the highest results in the gaming tests. The models demonstrated almost the same average FPS, with a minimal margin towards the processor from Intel. Althoug you might not notice that in real gaming conditions.
On the other hand, the 3900X copes with loads of almost any kind. In addition, the flagship AMD performs work tasks faster than the ten-core i9 10900X, which costs significantly more.
